Experience
For the past 10 years I have been teaching 5th and 6th grade. I've taught every subject (math, science, ELA, writing, and social studies). Math has always been my favorite subject both as a student and as a teacher. I have also provided small group instruction to struggling 5th grade students primarily for math. While working on my bachelors degree I also tutored students in Psychology Statistics and other general college math classes. In order to succeed students not only need the basic skills required but also lots of encouragement and praise. Facing a subject you either dislike or are struggling in isn't easy. With the right support your child can improve. I use a variety of tips and helpful hints to breakdown the material and empower students to take chances that lead to their success. The best part of teaching and tutoring is when students are able to accomplish a task on their own and the end result is a smile beaming with pride.
